The Studio
Outdoors and in my studio are my workplaces. Digital as well as traditonal art are both part of my toolkit.
I better understand and more effectively can capture a place and moment in time through the usage of these tools and ways of seeing.
I use VR quite a bit to help me grasp from 3d reality what I want in to 3d in digital worlds and vice versa.
My Background
I have been an Art Director and Concept Artist for Video Games for the last 25 years. My work has focused on 3d world creation and conceptual art creation for games and films. I graduated from Art Center College Of Design with a B. of Science degree in Industrial Design and Conceptual Automotive Design, and have worked for car designers, game companies, film studios, as well as tech firms like Meta and Autodesk.
I have always been drawn to 3d form and the science of lighting, optics and how materials behave in the world around us. I have been painting from life and from observation for my whole career as a digital artist and find that the two forms of art blance and feed each other very nicely. The artistic eye for decision making is the place it gets expressed.
Its vital to my art to observe nature and the way the world is actually visible to us in 3d and not only from flat screens.
